On Wednesday the 8th of October a large number of TY students gathered outside the school where photos were taken of the excited participants of the 2020 online VHI Women’s Mini Marathon. Even though it was a women's mini marathon there were plenty of male students dressed up as ladies taking part to provide support and add to the festivity of the day.
When the walk began everybody was full of life and eager to go. As the walk progressed students split up into groups of friends walking at different paces. By the time the 2 km mark was reached there were purple t-shirts spread out along the Greystones coastline. This changed at the halfway mark of 5km when students turned and waited for the rest to catch up. After two hours of walking some people had blisters and had run out of water but were happy as it was all for an excellent cause. By the time the school was in sight everybody was thankful that they were nearly done. Once the participants reached the school the classes had for the day ended and with a goodbye and thanks everybody went on their way, dragging their weary feet to their homes for a well-deserved rest.
Overall everybody really enjoyed this walk as it not only supported a great cause but gave TY students the opportunity to further bond after a number of workshops in recent weeks.
