A bonding workshop took place last Friday for all the students in Transition Year. A lot of the students did not know what to expect when they arrived at school to be greeted by an array of bonding games prepared by Dane and his crew from Giddy Gally Adventure. Students were quickly divided into twelve groups of roughly seven students. The leaders then explained the games to the students and who began reeling in the points. Students were quite competitive as the leaders had informed them that they had prizes for the team with the most points at the end of the day.
The games included a lot of trust in your team mates as one false move could affect the entire result of the game. The day was split up into three sections, similar to the school day. The first part of the day students stayed in one area and then rotated between the basketball court and tarmac area during the day. Some of the activities students participated in included archery, wheelbarrow races and immersive puzzle games. As the day was nearing an end, it was time for the winners to be announced. The team that won had collected more points than the other teams and they received high praise for their efforts before receiving a box of chocolates and jelly sweets to share.
Many thanks to the leaders at Giddy Gally for giving such a fun and enjoyable day to the TY students. In addition a huge thank you to T.Y Coordinator, Ms. Brosnan for organising the day. Finally well done to all the Transition Year students for their excellent effort and participation throughout.
