On Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th of April Transition Year students left the hustle and bustle of St. David’s school for the woodland region of Kippure. On arrival students were greeted by Dane and his team. Throughout the day students took part in several activities which were designed to teach some survival skills. Students were required to build a shelter from branches and foliage which was available in the woodland, collect sticks and twigs for a fire, and then cook food on the fire that they had created.
As always, the Bushcraft trip proved to be massively positive for the students of Transition Year, providing students with the opportunity to access the outdoors and get away from the classroom for the day.
