On Thursday 13th September all Transition Year students visited Causey Farm in Co. Meath. This annual trip always takes place the day after Junior Certificate results day. Throughout the day students took part in a wide variety of activities.
The day began with students getting the opportunity to bake their own bread. Despite several broken eggs this proved to be a successful venture for the majority of students. Students also indulged in some céilí dancing before setting out to explore the farm. Part of the group got the opportunity to take some basic bodhrán lessons while the others were lucky enough to be allowed to visit the haunted house experience.
The highlight of the day for most students (but probably the low-point for parents/guardians who were carrying out the washing) was undoubtedly the opportunity to jump into the bog!
A massive thank you to Ms. Brosnan, Ms. Clifford, Mr. Gardiner, Ms. McCormack and Mr. Ó Muirgheasa who accompanied students on the day.
