November Remembrance Service
Our annual service of remembrance took place in school on Wednesday the 28th of November 2018.
We remember them………..
Our liturgy of remembrance for all of our loved ones who have died, for those we had the privilege of knowing and loving as we shared our lives with them. Those we loved never die.
On Wednesday 21st Of October a large crowd of students, parents and teachers gathered for the St. David's Annual Junior Certificate Awards Ceremony. The awards recognise excellent academic achievement in the Junior Certificate Examinations. Any student who achieved an A grade in any subject was presented with an award. In total forty-seven individual awards were presented to forty-four students.
In addition to the individual awards there was a best in class award presented to the highest achiever in each of the three base classes. The winners of these awards were Neil Browne from 3.8, Aaron O'Dwyer-Robinson from 3.4 and Ava Stokes from 3.2.
The ceremony culminated in the presentation of the Leah Little Trophy which is awarded to the student with the highest results in the Junior Certificate Examinations across the entire year group. This year Ava Stokes was the winner.
Congratulations to all students on their excellent achievements and a massive thank you to all staff members who contributed to organise the awards and refreshments for the event.
As part of TY Art the students and Ms. Sheridan carried out a recreaton of 'The School of Athens' by Renaissance painter Raphael. Some of the photos are shown below.
On the 14th of November five of the students of the class of 2018 were awarded entrance scholarships to UCD in recognition of their excellent achievements in the Leaving Certiicate Examinations. This is the 12th successive year that academic achievement from St. David's has been rewarded with UCD scholarships.

Daniel Blankensee, on Monday 19th of November, pictured at the 2018 Entrance Awards, as a result of his high performance in the Leaving Certificate Examinations.
Daniel is currently studying Theoretical Physics in Trinity College. Well done on an excellent achievement!
