On Monday 12th of October third year base classes from the Junior Cycle class of 2019 were called one class at a time to the school hall to be presented with their Junior Certificate/Junior Cycle school certificates. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic formal state examinations for this cohort of students were cancelled and replaced by school-based assessments.
Class groups from the previous year assembled individually where each student was presented with a copy of their results in a sealed envelope by the School Principal, Ms. O' Doherty. Once the individual certificates had been distributed the best in class awards were presented to the students who had received the most A grades or Distinction grades within their class groups. This year the individual award winners were:
3.6 Ellen Finnerty
3.24 Aoife Reilly
3.27 Robert Shparuta
3.29 Ellie Maguire-O'Malley
The last award to be presented was the Leah Little Memorial Trophy. Each year this accolade is presented to the student who receives the greatest number of A grades or Distinctions across all of their Junior Certificate/Junior Cycle subjects. This year Ellie Maguire-O'Malley was presented with this award by Deputy Principal, Mr. Carey, and Principal, Ms. O'Doherty, on account of her excellent results.
Congratulations to all students on their grades!
