On Tuesday the 10th of September a large number of staff along with members of the class of 2019 gathered in the school dining area for the Annual Leaving Certificate Awards Ceremony. The ceremony was opened by School Deputy Principal, Mr. Simon Carey who spoke about the importance of the awards and congratulated both students and parents on the fantastic results that had been achieved. This was followed by School Principal, Ms. Mary O' Doherty, who congratulated the students on their terrific achievements but also advised that their hard work must also be applied to college life.  Mr. Simon Carey then began the task of reading through the list of forty-nine individual award winners. Each student was presented their award by either the Head Boy or Head Girl along with Ms. O' Doherty.

Following the individual awards the focus shifted towards the best in class prizes. Sebastien Fulmer, Rachel Purcell, Eoghan O' Longaigh, Gerard Acton and Tom Cleary picked up the accolades for their respective class groups.

The final award of the evening was the Paul Ellis Cup which is awarded to the student who achieved the best overall Leaving Certificate from the entire class group. The winner this year was Sebastien Fulmer who epitomises the Paul Ellis award in the way he conducted himself as a hardworking, academic, empathetic and respectful student throughout his six years in the school.

The evening concluded with a wine and crackers reception.

Congratulations to all students who achieved awards on the night but a massive well done must go out to the entire class of 2019 on their excellent results. Best of luck to all in the future!
