Minor Soccer vs Gaelcholáiste na Mara

The minor boys football team had a tremendous victory against Gaelcholáiste na Mara in Arklow last Friday. The game began with a fierce start from when Davids had possession. They knew straight away that it would be a tough match, as they were challenged for every ball. The opposition struck several shots, but good defensive tackling and quality saves from Luke Whelan ensured that they wouldn’t fall behind on the scoreline. Until half time, both sides were still level with at 0 - 0.

The constructive team talk at half time boosted their desire to push through to victory. From the time when the whistle blew Davids upped their game . Yet again, possession was gained by Davids. Michael Martin received the ball and almost effortlessly set up an opportunity for Mark Hayden to score, which was perfectly executed. This put Davids ahead. Tension tightened as the opposing team struggled to put themselves level again on the scoreboard. However, they were unable to do so.

This 1 - 0 victory for Davids was well deserved. Great start to the season lads, keep it up!
