Senior Girls GAA Shield Victory - April '24

On Friday, 19th of April, our Senior Girls GAA team travelled to Eire Óg to play against East Glendalough in a Senior Shield Final. They arrived at the pitch shortly before an 11:30 kick-off. The team was captained by TY student, Charlotte Hudson.

The girls started the match fantastically, holding early possession and it didn't take long for the St David's girls to get on the scoresheet with Lucy O’Leary scoring the first point of the game. The girls kept up their strong performance with scores coming from Lauren O’Leary, Holly Sheehy and a goal from Aisling Casey to make the score 1-11 to 0-00 in the first half.

In the second half, the girls put in a tremendous performance, with great defence from our backs which allowed our forwards to score a total of ten more goals!

The match ended in a score of 11-19 to 1-0 to St David's, to the girl's delight! A special mention to 5th year Aisling Casey for being the top scorer of the game with a total of 6 goals and 4 points! Also, a special mention to Hannah Clancy and Kayleigh Moorehouse, as this was the last GAA match that they will play for St.David's before graduating. Finally, a massive thank you to the girl's coach, Ms. O’Neill for all her work this season!
