School Vision and Strategic Plan 2021 – 2026

I am delighted, as school Principal, of this great school, St. David’s Holy Faith Secondary School, Greystones, to present our School Vision and Strategic Plan, 2021 – 2026.
Since my appointment as school Principal, in August 2021, huge change and development has been to the fore by me, Louise O’ Sullivan and the entire school team, of tremendous staff, students, parents and guardians, and the wider community. A new school crest, school colours, uniform and P.E uniform has been introduced; a wonderful new sports and arts programme initiated; an extensive
building and development project completed, changing the entire campus; overhaul of the middle management structure of our school and duties of our middle management leaders in the school. We are now in the process of shifting our focus on teaching and learning: academic attainment and success, linking in with student voice and an exciting School Self – Evaluation work, 2023 – 2026.
This document, Vision and Strategic Plan, 2021 – 2026 charts all facets of school life, and clearly sets out where and how, we as a school community, see ourselves and importantly, what we want to do, to ensure our students receive the very best in their education.
Our students' numbers this academic year, 2022 – 2023 number 732 and we expect those numbers to increase to approx. 755 in the next academic year, 2023 – 2024. I am thrilled to see the appointment of Mr. Huw Davies, as the school’s second Deputy Principal, effective form the 1st September 2023.
This Plan is broken down into four key sections. Section One is the context of our school; Section Two is the Strategic Plan itself (with five main components – school ethos; teaching and learning; student and staff development; governance and sustainability; working with stake-holders); Section Three consists of main appendices to this document and finally, Section Four consists of logs of all
meetings, with stake-holders on two main consultative changes within this school since 2021, on new school crest and uniform and School Vision and Strategic Plan, 2021 – 2026.
Finally, this work will be reviewed annually, with an Oversight Team, led by the school’s two Deputy Principals, Louise O’ Sullivan and Huw Davies. They will then engage with me and the Board of Management will be issued with an annual report.

Kind regards,
Simon Carey
Principal
