1st Year Girls Quarter Final Basketball Match

On Friday the 8th of March, our 1st Year Girls basketball team took on Avondale in the South East Leinster Quarter Final. After a quick warm-up and a shoot around the game was ready to begin. 

The ball was thrown up and the first quarter was slow to start., with both teams defending well and not being able to get through to the basket. The quarter ended 3-2 to David's.

The game quickly picked up pace in the 2nd Quarter. Both teams were pushing to the basket more. Avondale took the lead early on with 3 baskets in a row but David's did not stop. The girls kept the pressure on and by the end of the 2nd quarter the girls were only trailing by 2. Avondale were leading 11-13

Although David's were strong to the end of the first half Avondale showcased an incredible amount of skill. As the final 2 quarters went on Avondale extended their lead to 18-41. 

Although it’s not the score we wanted, the girls should be proud of themselves for continuing to fight until the very end and demonstrating an incredible amount of team spirit.
