Canteen Service

Food Excellence is a locally operated catering and training business. They specialise in providing good food to schools. Their emphasis is on providing a complete food service both in meal and snack format. They offer students the ability to order online, using their own Food Excellence debit smart card system. The system enables the student/parent to order a week or day in advance. Each Friday, they post the following week's menu offering a different hot dish every day. Choose the dish of the day, filled roll, wrap of choice and add a healthy beverage or snack. The next day simply collect the food which will already be prepared and waiting. Students can also simply walk up to the counter and order by just tapping the card. Cash is also acceptable - though we do not advise bringing cash to school. HOT DISHES MUST BE PRE-ORDERED. All other menu items can be purchased both ways - pre-ordered or purchase at the counter.

Benefits of using the card include:

• Setting a daily spend limit on the card

• Monitoring what your child is consuming

• Overdraft facility of €5 in case you forget to top up the card.

• No queuing or wasting time on a short lunch-break.

• Special queue for collecting your order

What do you need to do now?

Follow the steps below:

STEP 1:

CARD REGISTRATION

You need to register at www.foodexcellence.ie and create an account. You can do so from today. Guided assistance is available to help you in this process and a very comprehensive FAQ section which will answer all your practical questions. If you have any queries, please contact Blathnaid at info@foodexcellence.ie. Please do not contact Celina at the office in relation to any of this. You must contact the food company directly. Take time to read about the method of registration and look at the video which is posted online. There is a service charge for your card which is €10 per year.

STEP 2:

CARD COLLECTION

Cards for new students can be collected in school. Students will be advised of when their card is ready.

There is a frequently asked questions section which answers all the kinds of questions which you would need to know in terms of setting up or the 'what if' situations that may emerge.

We are delighted to be able to offer this facility to you. We strongly recommend that you register and pre-order where possible so that there is a smooth delivery of the service on-site here in the school.
