A match against East Glendalough kicked off the rugby season for our 1st Year Boys.
On the 27th of September, our First Years headed down to Wicklow Rugby Club alongside our Junior team, to play a fixture against East Glendalough. The game kicked off at approximately 1:30p.m. St. David’s started off slow, conceding 3 tries in the first quarter of the match but a break away try by Fiachra O’Sullivan brought the morale of the team up before heading into the 2nd half. One stand out player for East Glendalough seemed to be a problem for our defence throughout the match, but a superb try finished by Arthur Lane showed some of the great talent this team has. One more try for St. David's rounded off the game for an end score of 55-19 to East Glendalough. Overall, it was a good performance considering most of this team are only starting off on their rugby careers and it was a good taster for the talent this team holds in the months to come. Well done boys, lots of potential!
