1st Year Boys' Soccer Team Advance to Final

On the 8th of May, our First Year Boys' soccer team faced Salesian College Celbridge in the semi-final of the Division One Leinster Champions League.

The match kicked off strongly with the St David’s side putting pressure on Salesian college immediately. There was fluid football throughout the first half with brilliant build up play and great individual talent. Early into the first half, Ryan Goff opened up the scoring with a tidy finish to make it 1-0 to St David’s. St David’s kept the lead until the whistle blew for half time.

In the second half it was back and forth between the two teams, playing fantastic football and challenging each other. There were multiple shots on goal from each side but great saves from Ross Kavanagh stopped Salesian College from scoring. This exciting game ended 1-0 to St David’s as the lads advanced

to the final of the cup.

Thank you to Mr. McDonnell and Mr. Brady for coming down and coaching and good luck to the lads in the final!
