Whole School Assembly Oct '26

We held our annual whole school assembly on Friday the 23rd of October to finish off our first term of the year.

The assembly began with an opening prayer from our Head Boy and Head Girl, Ewan MacAdam and Ella Andrews. Then, we had Nathan Hall, who told us all about our annual SVP Christmas hamper appeal - please bring in items in the lead up to December so we can help those in need!

Former Head Girl Carolann McDonald, who recently represented Wicklow in the Rose of Tralee, delivered a powerful speech about life after and in school. She spoke of the value in pushing ourselves comfort zones and try new things, opening up about her own initial hesitancy in challenging herself but recognising just how beneficial and enjoyable it can be.

After this, we had the awarding of prizes to the best dressed from each year group. The standard this year was incredible, with so many amazing costumes on show. The 5th Year Prefects had such a hard task deciding the winner for the 6th Years that it could only be decided by a dance battle between our 80s throwback troupe and The Smurfs (the blue contingent emerged victorious)!

Then, Leila Mellett, Freja Gustafsson and Anna Weidenhammer had the chance to talk about their vision for the F1 in Schools team this year. They also revealed the new name for the team this year: North Star Racing!

Finally, Mr Carey closed our assembly with a reminder about the importance in staying this Halloween break, as well as enjoying themselves after a busy term. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on November 2nd!
