1st year boys soccer vs De La Salle College

On the 21st of October, our 1st year boys faced a very strong side from De La Salle College away in Churchtown.

It was a very tight game, with De La Salle scoring the opening goal after a few minutes. Our 1st year boys didn't give up and kept pushing on. Senan Das Dores was able to skillfully grab an excellent goal, throwing St David's right back into the game.

In the second half, David’s unluckily conceded early on. However, just as they did in the first half, they were able to get another equalizer, this time coming from Cian McLaughlin. The game was very even throughout the rest of the half with chances coming from both sides. It was a brilliant free kick from Alfie Monaghan which was able to give David's the lead and ultimately saw them win the game.

The boys showcased a great amount of determination and never gave in, which they should all be extremely proud of themselves for. We have no doubt they'll bring the same energy and intensity to their next opponent. Well done to the lads on securing such an important win and a huge thanks to their coach Mr. McMenamin for training the boys weekly. As well as that, thank you to De La Salle College for giving David’s such a challenging match. Well done lads!
