1st Year Christmas Movie Night (Barretstown Fundraiser)

On Thursday the 5th of December the eager 1st Years arrived to the school at 6 o’clock for their First Year movie night in aid of Barretstown.

Everyone really looked the part in their festive pyjamas. After all were checked in it was time to sit back and relax, the movie selected to watch was Home Alone. Each First Year received a goodie bag along with additional baked goods on the night. This event was an excellent opportunity for the first years to bond as a group and to spend time together outside the classroom environment . All the students had a blast!

This event was run by Holly Goodwin and Anna O'Driscoll of Transition Year. Holly and Anna are on this year's TY Barretstown team. This event was a part of their fundraising and they are super grateful for all the money raised from this event.

Barretstown, based in Kildare, runs free residential camps for children and their families, affected by serious childhood illness. They offer a range of adventurous, fun and challenging activities which are supported behind the scenes by 24 hour on site medical and nursing care. This is truly an amazing charity that we are so happy to be raising money for.

We would like to thank all who took part in this event and for supporting the Barretstown team in St David’s. Thank you to the staff for helping organise this event and a massive thank you to Holly and Anna for making this night possible.
