Thursday 27th August marked the first day for our incoming 1st Year students, who had the chance to experience just a taster of what St David’s has in store for them over the coming year.

After signing in and finding their base class, students enjoyed a day jam-packed with both practical information and excitement. Our 1st Years got to experience the incredible facilities on our campus in an extensive tour of the building, as well as an induction session in our library (complete with brand-new herringbone flooring) from our incomparable librarian, Ms. Duggan.

Following this, students had the opportunity to get to know their new classmates in a series of ice-breaker activities and team games in the dining area, expertly led by our 5th Year prefects. The fun only continued as a host of physical challenges and active games were staged in our state-of-the-art sports hall, offering a glimpse of what our comprehensive sporting programme offers.

Students were also given a helpful tutorial from Ms. Crossan and her team in the computer room, allowing them to get set up on everything related to their Google accounts.

Finally, our 1st Years were welcomed into our school community through the means of artistic expression, as each student created a clay thumbprint with Ms. Gore, which will be added to the existing display of every student and staff member on the school wall near the foyer.

After meetings and assemblies with tutors, Mr. Carey, Ms. O’Sullivan, Mr. Davies and Year Head Mr. Doyle, our 1st Years had completed their first action-packed day in St David’s, ready to start their first full week next week.
