On Wednesday the 13th of May, our 1st Year girls travelled to Wicklow to play Colaiste Chill Mhantain in their Gaelic football final.

Throw in was at 10:00am and as soon as the ball was in play, the girls started playing some fantastic football. CCM started off quick with a goal and a point but our girls were fast to reply as Rachel Carley scored a fantastic goal. There was some amazing play from our centre forward, Millie and solid defense from both our back lines. Ciara Davis in midfield saw a lot of ball and made some super passes and excellent passages of play!

The girls were battling hard and when the half time whistle blew it was 4-1 to 1-1 to CCM. At half time, the girls knew they had to put a lot of work in during the second half. Mr. Cummins gave them a talk and drove the girls on to go out and give it their all for the next 25 mins.

CCM started off quickly once again and put some well worked scores on the board. Ella Moran got a super goal to keep our girls in the game, but they were still trailing a few points behind CCM. Our girls worked relentlessly hard to keep up with CCM and made some brilliant tackles and got some lovely scores as a team. They fought long and hard up until the final whistle but unfortunately CCM came out with the victory, with the final score being 7-1 to 4-3. Congratulations to CCM on the win and thank you for a great game!

Our girls should be super proud of themselves for their achievements this year and for reaching the final. A big thank you to their coach Mr. Cummins who has supported them throughout the whole year and trained with them every week down in Eire Og.
