1st Year Induction & LC Results!

It was an exciting day on Friday, 22nd of August, as the St David's community had much to enjoy, welcoming our newest school members and celebrating those who have recently graduated.

It marked a phenomenal day for our 1st Year students. Staff and students, over fifty Fifth Year Buddies, Prefects, as well as our Student Liaison Team, Head Girl Kate Macadam, Head Boy Rian O' Gorman, Deputy Head Boys Finn Morris and Paddy Marrinan and Deputy Head Girls Ellie Hall and Grace McDermott welcomed each of our new students to the school.

We started our day with an assembly for all First Years. Mr. Carey opened the assembly outlining our school's history, the importance of the school family to each and all, wearing their uniform with pride, the school's four pillars (Ethos, Academic achievement and excellence, the Arts and Sport), our new phone policy and the programme for the day.

Next came Deputy Principal Mr. Davies, who outlined the timetable and class tutors and introduced the five tutors (Ms. Matthews, Ms. Dempsey, Mr. Crowe, Ms. Collins and Mr. Cummins) for each year group

The Year Head, Mr. Ó Donnchadha spoke next, focusing on students embracing all the opportunities in the school - sports, the arts and all that we offer. Finally, the student liaison team spoke to the students and welcomed them all on behalf of the entire school community.

The students then spent the rest of the day enjoying team building activities, sports, the arts, library and Google Classroom tutorials. Their tutors went through timetables, lockers and the phone pouches. A final re-group took place at 2: 15 p.m before their departure at 2: 30 p.m.

For the Class of 2025, it marked a day when the anticipation of their long-awaited Leaving Cert results was finally brought to an end. The results across the board were absolutely remarkable, as wave upon wave of beaming faces were greeted by staff members, keen to share their congratulations on the scores achieved. Whilst every single student should be incredibly proud of their results, special mention goes to Nathan Donlon, Cathal Murphy and Colm O' Neill, who each achieved a stunning 625 points, with 7 H1s.

Overall, our students achieved the following:

600 - 624 points - 3.2%

500 - 599 points - 25.9%

400 - 499 points - 28.7%

300 - 399 points - 28.9%

200 - 299 points - 9.3%

100 - 199 points - 1.6%

0 - 99 points - 0%

Congratulations and we can't wait to see you again for our Awards Night and Debs later this month!
