27th November, Junior Boys Gaelic vs GCC

On Thursday 27th of November, our Junior Boys' Gaelic team travelled down to Éire Óg to play GCC in what they knew would be a tough game.

The match began at 11:00 and the atmosphere was intense as both teams knew the game was up for grabs. Play started off strong from St. David's, making great attacks with scores coming from John O’Boyle and Conor Shevlin.

GCC kept St. David's on their toes as they managed to also score, putting pressure on our defense but Andrew McCarron and Fionn Clarke Twomey had some excellent blocks and the goal keeper Ross Kavanagh had amazing saves and kick outs.

At half time David’s knew their impeccable work rate couldn't stop as it was such a close score. Mr.

Crowe gave a very motivating talk to the team, encouraging them to continue giving their all.

The match continued and was very even, with scores continuing from both teams. Going from one side to the other frequently. Unfortunately the match ended with the score of 5:08 - 4:09 with GCC taking the win by only 2 points.

Well done to all of the lads for battling it out to the end, putting GCC under massive amounts of pressure. The player of the match has to go to Ross Kavanagh as there would be many more scores without him and his amazing skill. Thank you to Mr. Crowe for coaching the lads and to Éire Óg for facilitating the match.
