Avondale Cross Country Races

On the 19th of November 2024, 11 of our students braved the harsh Irish weather and competed in cross country races in Avondale. The students were running 3km through the mucky and muddy trail. Weather conditions proved to be a challenge through the race as runners were slipping and sliding. Every one of our students managed to persevere through the elements, however, and had fantastic runs.

Brodie Kelly Wood of second year enjoyed a magnificent run, earning him a well-deserved 3rd place. James Dixon of TY had brilliant success in the senior division, obtaining 5th place out of 50 runners. We had many second year girls compete in these races and three secured places in the top 20. Connie Lewis deserves a special mention as she was the only first year to compete. She earned herself a place in the top 15 after an incredible race.

Although everyone was drenched and covered in a fair amount of mud, morale was high on the bus back after a successful day in Avondale.

Well done to all who took part!
