First Year Boys GAA Match

On the 11th of December St David’s First Year GAA team, led by Mr. Short, travelled down to Blessington to play Blessington Community College team despite the cold wintery conditions.

A great warmup was led by Mr. Short and an inspiring pep talk to get the lads ready for the match.

The first half was a very difficult as Blessington Community College maintained the majority of the possession, the David's lads kept up a good fight constantly moving up and down the pitch defending and relentlessly trying to win possession. Even though it was a challenging first half for David's, the lads did have some great play.

The boys came out on to the pitch for the second half, all guns blazing. This newfound determination allowed the lads score a few quick goals to get right back into the game. A special shout-out to Andrew McClosky who scored a brilliant goal and goalie James, who made multiple excellent saves throughout the match.

Despite the super performance from the boys unfortunately it was not enough to secure a win this time.
