On the 11th of May, our first year girls took on a challenging but enjoyable blitz. Despite the cold and damp weather, the girls were determined to put up a great fight and get stuck in.

David’s first took on local rivals TCG, with the match kicking off at 9.45. They got involved from the very first whistle, showing off their skilful passing up and down the wings. At half time, the teams remained deadlocked, with a scoreline of. 0-0. In the second half TCG started to pick up the pace, managing to get the ball up the field. Unfortunately the girls conceded 2 goals, making the final score 2-0.

Their second match was against GCC. GCC took the lead by 3 but not long after David’s retaliated, with Katie scoring a cracker of a goal making the score 3-1. There were some amazing plays and strong defending by the David's girls while Millie made many epic runs up and down the wings. David’s played phenomenally in this match, however with an extremely tough opposition the final score was left at 3-1.

The girls third match was against St Killian's. The girls really fought extremely hard and worked amazingly as a team to secure a 4-1 victory! Well done to Chloe who scored a goal and Katie who scored a hat-trick!

The fourth and final match was against the strong and skilled team of Loreto Bray. Our St David’s girls put in their best effort in this match, giving Loreto absolutely no time to relax. Katie struck again with another fantastic goal leaving the two teams neck in neck. However, after an extremely tense playoff Loreto managed to sneak the victory with a final score of 2-1.

Well done to the David's girls for giving this blitz their best effort and never letting their heads drop. They played exceptionally as a team and should be very proud of themselves. A massive thank you to their coach Mr. O’Donnchadha who has helped the girls train and become stronger and for also organising this great event!
