Junior Girls' GAA Leinster Quarterfinal

On Wednesday the 15th of January, our Junior Girls' Leinster squad made the short journey down to Eire Og to face off against Ramsgrange Community College Wexford in the Leinster Quarterfinal at 11am.

As the whistle blew and the first half began Ramsgrange won the first ball, but the David’s girls quickly got stuck in. Play was back and forth for the first few minutes until Laoise O Gorman got the first point on the board for St David’s. This lovely point was followed by an excellent goal by Hazel Predagast. Ramsgrange got 1 point on the board and, determined to get back into the game, scored another impressive goal. This goal gave Ramsgrange a confidence boost and they enjoyed a short spell of dominance where they scored 3 points. As the first half was coming to an end Emily O'Driscoll got a lucky goal bringing David’s back in the game. When the Whistle blew for half time the game was even 2-1 to 1-4

After an encouraging half time talk by Mr Geoghegan the second half begun. It took both teams the first 10 minutes to really get back into the game, Laoise O’Gorman scored an incredible goal. This was when the girl's momentum really got going. The girls took complete control of the game in the second half. Some great scores were got by Moya Marrinan Millie Free and Emily O’Driscoll. Emily O’Driscoll got an outstanding goal this really put David’s out of sight. The match ended in a great victory for St David’s. Final score 6-4 to 1-6

Congratulations to the team on making it to the Leinster Semi Final. A big thanks to Mr. Geoghegan for coaching and accompanying the girls

Well, done to all!
