On the 1st of October, the Junior Girls' Gaelic team took on GCC in Éire Óg. It was a hard fought victory for St. David's, as they contended with wet and muddy conditions. Moya Marrianan set the tempo with an excellent point within the first few minutes, followed by a point from Poppy Smith and Isobel Keating. These scores raised the atmosphere at Eire Óg and kept our clean sheet going into the second half.
The second half began with immense pressure from the GGC girls but the outstanding defence from St. David's withheld the siege. They conceded nothing but drilled the ball over GCCs goal a multitude of times great points taken from are TY players Laoise O'Gorman and Ciara Fitzgerald to put the game to bed and finish with a score of 2-14 to none.
Thank you so much Eir Og for the facilitates and to coach Mr Geoghegan who led us to victory onwards and upwards girls!
