Junior Girls' Soccer vs Colaiste Bride

On the 17th of November 2025, the junior girls' football team took to the pitch ready to perform and play just like Mr.Geoghegan had been training them from the very beginning of their years at St.David's.

Kick off was at 12pm and within minutes we saw an incredible goal from Laoise O'Gorman bringing high expectations for the game ahead. The first half continued with strong defense from St.David's and matched the opposing teams energy levels really well!

We also saw some really great performances from Our captain, Grace O’Neill, Alanna Synnott and Poppy Smith. Teamwork was seen throughout the pitch and Emily closed the first half with another brilliant goal, bringing the half time score 2-0 to St.Davids!

To open the second half of the match we saw the return of Aoife Wall to the pitch and played phenomenally, breaking defensive lines and passing to her teammates. St.David's were met with some tough offense and some attempted shots but they were no match for our amazing goalkeeper, Hazel Prendergast!

Incredible defensive lines were made for the opposing team and a goal was awarded from a corner taken by Mae Browner. The end of the match was closing in with a score of 3-0 to St.David's, when Laoise O'Gorman decided to shock us all with another goal in the final minutes of the game!

The final whistle blew, ending the game with a score of 4-0 to St.David's. Well done to all the girls on the team, this score is a reflection of all the hard work and dedication that they put into this football team. A special thanks to their coach,Mr.Geoghegan for taking the time to train the girls every week.

We would also like to thank Greystones United Football Club for allowing us to use their amazing facilities to host these special matches every week and to be able to train on them in preparation of these matches!
