Junior Rugby Blitz

On Tuesday, the 30th of September, our Junior Boys' Rugby team took part in a gruelling but rewarding blitz, taking on some of the region's finest teams.

Match 1: St David’s vs St Paul’s

David’s battled hard in the first 5 minutes making some great tackles, gaining a penalty to prevent a try from St Paul’s. Unfortunately David’s conceded around the 10th minute mark but the lads continued fighting but just couldn’t see the ball over the try line, in end unfortunately losing but 3 more games to make it up.

Match 2: David’s vs Sword’s

The lads went down early in this one conceding 2 tries in the first 5 minutes but instead of dropping their heads the lads battled on and fought hard. Some great carries from Mathew Evans eventually resulted in a try and David’s comeback was on. Euan Darcy made a vital tackle preventing Sword’s from scoring again and got the second giving David’s the momentum and Mathew Evan finished it of with a try with two minutes to go.

Match 3: Malahide

The Lads fought hard in this one unfortunately losing to a better Malahide team on the day, going 3 try’s down but came back with a try from Matthew Evan but unfortunately it was too late.

Match 4: David’s vs Ardgillian

This match proved to be a great battling performance from the lads. A great carry by Matthew Evans saw him offload to Euan Darcy, who made a great run from the halfway line avoiding multiple tackles and touching down just in the corner. George Donnelly broke through tackles making it 10 nil David’s. Ardgillian scored but it was too late to matter

Thanks to Mr Brady and well done to the lads who battled hard and were tough to beat.
