On the sunny morning of Thursday the 19th of March 2026, our minor girls soccer team went down to the Greystones United pitches to face Blessington Community College.
Kick off was at 11:00am, it was a tough match with our defence being worked hard from the off. Georgia O’Gorman was a star defender today, managing to stave off the initial waves of Blessington's attacks. The girls held their heads up high and pushed forward, battling bravely against a strong opposition. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal in the first half but we kept our heads held high.
After an inspiring half-time speech from Mr. Kehoe, St. David kicked off the second half. Well done to Katie Ward who pushed hard and made a series of great chances for St. David’s to fight back but we didn't quite capitalise. Ultimately, the final score of the match was 3-0 to Blessington Community College, who deserved their win at the end of the day.
Thank you so much to Mr. Kehoe for coaching this team and well done to the girls for giving their best effort and for their morale that helped the whole team keep going.
