The Minor Girls' soccer team took on Loreto Bray on the 30th of January. Despite the bad weather, the girls were determined to put up a strong fight against their opposition. The girls went into the match with high hopes, looking to give the game their best effort. The match kicked off at 12.05 at Greystones United.
When the whistle blew, the girls were straight in. Within the first 15 minutes, Ciara Lehane scored a banger, smashing it straight into the net. Not long after, Loreto Bray came back and scored a goal. Luckily Ciara Lehane got yet another 2 goals within the span of 5 minutes, completing her hat-trick! The girls worked together extremely well as a team and had great communication for the entirety of the match.
After halftime, the girls were down by one goal. David’s put up an amazing performance for the rest of the match with Lucia Broc scoring a cracker! This made it 4-4 with only 15 minutes left. Unfortunately, Loreto Bray got the finishing goal making the final score 5-4. Despite the result, the girls played as a team till the final whistle and kept their heads up high.
Hard lucky girls and no doubt you’ll get them next time! A massive thank you to their coach Mr. Kehoe who trained them in the harsh weather conditions and supported them from the sideline. Well done girls!
