Open Night 2026
On September 22nd, we had the chance to welcome future members of our school community to our annual Open Night.
Even prior to the 6pm start time, a queue had formed outside in anticipation of a great evening ahead. Visitors were treated to a complete snapshot of everything the school has to offer from its four pillars: arts, sports, ethos and, of course, academic excellence.
Current students offered families a guided tour of all areas on campus. Each subject department prepared classrooms that contained an array of interactive experiences. Particular highlights included the labs, where prospective pupils were given eye-catching science demonstrations and live dissections, and the sports hall offered a series of football, basketball and golf challenges. Not to be outdone, the Home Ec rooms were hard at work serving up soup samples for the tourists and the Business Department challenged our perceived value of branded biscuits with a collection of taste tests. Throughout the entire evening, there was a discernible buzz throughout the halls of the school as each classroom offered new experiences and chances to find out more about school life.
In the latter portion of the evening, Mr. Carey had the opportunity to speak to parents, guardians and students about what makes St David’s such a special place for young people to spend their formative years in, speaking of our values and ethos, which underpin everything we do. Following this, the senior student liaison team each had the chance to address the crowd, speaking of their experiences in the school throughout their time here, highlighting not just the learning encountered but the memories made also.
We’d like to thank each and every person who chose to visit our school on Open Night. A huge thank you to all the staff members who worked so hard over the last number of weeks to ensure this event was possible and to each student who enthusiastically gave their time to help out.
