Senior Boys Soccer Final 28/01/26

On the 28th of January, our Senior Boys' soccer team travelled to Arklow football club to play Wexford CBS in the Wicklow / Wexford division one final, our first time to make this stage of the competition in the school's history. The team was coached by the astonishing leadership of Mr. Doyle and Mr. Brady. The nerves were high as the team travelled down to the final, but after a quick warmup they were ready. Over 50 of our students came out to support, with Nikki and Aoife being the enthusiastic flag bearers.

The match started great, with everyone working exceptionally well together, especially Luca Kelly and Tim Phelan. Oisin Waters made many fantastic saves, however Wexford CBS unfortunately scored an early goal. Despite this the team kept going, refusing to let the early goal get them down. Captain Sean McLaughlin made sure to keep the spirits high among his team. As CBS got another unfortunate goal, the team kept their heads up, Andrew Wall showing great ball control.

At half time the team were inspired by the words of Mr. Doyle and Mr. Brady, along with some great encouragement from Mr. Davies. They gave it 110% going into the second half. However it just wasn't their day and it was an unlucky loss. Getting into this final made history for our school. A huge thank you to all the supporters, coaches and especially the players for their dedication throughout this season.
