Senior Boys Soccer Match Against Catholic University School

On Tuesday, 26th of September, St David’s Senior Boys Soccer team faced off against Catholic University School on Greystones United’s astro turf. It was the boy’s first game together as a team this season and they wanted to start on a positive note. Two Fourth Years from the team were called up to play for the Senior Team, Luca Kelly and Sean Hennelly.

After the talks and warmups the teams were eager to get the game started. The game kicked off at 11:00pm with Catholic University School scoring to establish an early lead. They maintained this lead throughout the first half but coming into the second half, St David’s had a new attitude after the captain, Lucas Du Preez, motivated them to continue to fight for the lead.

Sean Hennelly opened the second half with a great goal, taking the ball down in the box and flicking it over the keeper. This goal was later followed by number 10, Jack Carey scoring an outside of the box banger and only two minutes later, Luca Kelly received the ball inside the box from Sean Hennelly, faked the defender and slotted it to bottom corner.

Despite these great goals Catholic University School reigned triumphant after a great contest. Well done to both teams for a very entertaining match!
