Senior Rugby Boys Vs TCG

On Wednesday the 8th of October, the senior rugby boys team, coached by Mr. Davies, played a tough match against Temple Carrig in Greystones rugby club.

The match kicked off at 2:30, and the lads got off to a brilliant start. They were awarded a penalty in just the first few minutes, which along with some great attacking tactics from the forwards, led to a try scored by right winger, Levi Morgan. This secured 5 points for the lads, although that was soon matched by the strong Temple Carrig team. The rest of the first half remained tough for the David's lads although with some encouragement from their coach Mr. Davies, they managed to regain possession of the ball. Although they conceded a try towards the end of the first half the team displayed a strong, confident performance overall, including another impressive try, scored by left winger, Aaron Doherty.

Half time came with a motivating team talk as the lads went over tactics and strategies for the second half.

The second half got off to a great start as the lads won line out, helping them to regain possession of the ball. They also gained a crucial penalty, preventing Temple Carrig from getting the ball over our line! From there we saw another brilliant try, scored by Max Waddington, playing outside centre. All the lads got really stuck into the match, making some great tackles, while the forwards worked tirelessly to hold up a strong front against what proved a tough opposition.

In the end the  final score came out to 24-12 to St. David's, giving them the win they well and truly deserved! Fair play to Temple Carrig who put up a good fight and thanks to Mr. Davies for coaching the team to victory.
