On the 28th of January 2026, St. David's invited first years to bring their grandparents, parents, guardians, aunts, uncles or friends into our school for a morning of making St. Brigid's crosses over a cup
of tea.
We were very lucky to have Fr. Barnardo in to officially open the morning with a prayer, reminding us of the Catholic ethos of our school. This was then followed by the prayers of the faithful led by first years.
The morning was filled with fun and laughter and was enjoyed by all. It provided an opportunity for first years to spend time with their loved ones and show them our school.
Thank you so much to all the supporting staff who made the morning possible, especially Ms Foynes. A huge thank you to the school Ethos Team, who took charge of the catering, welcoming people as they came in and teaching them how to make St. Brigid's crosses.
Overall it was a lovely morning meeting new people as well as spending time with loved ones.
