Last Friday, the 8th of May, St David’s welcomed back 60 years of alumni for a fabulous evening of reconnecting with the school and old classmates. The evening, organised by The Past Pupils Union and Principal Simon Carey was a fantastic success. The ‘Reunion of the Sixes’ welcomed back graduation years ending with six, 2016, 2006, 1996, 1986, 1976 and 1966!

This fantastic night was made possible thanks to the dedication of Ronan Lupton, Professor Brian Harney, Ciara Whooley, Will Dalton, Peter Brady, Dr. Janette McGuinness, Rian Hayden, Adam Harris and Keith McCabe.

The night kicked off around 7pm as TY volunteers welcomed the past pupils in for an impressive spread of refreshments in the dining hall, organised by the Parent Teacher Association. After settling in and reuniting with old friends, the past pupils were led by present students around the school for a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Although the school has changed immeasurably, the foundations remain the same, both literally and morally.

After an emotional and sentimental evening of revisiting their teenage selves, P.P.U committee member Brian Harney and Mr. Carey each made a speech outlining the mission of the PPU and the importance of the event. They encouraged alumni to join the past pupils directory on their website.

A huge thank you to all that made this evening possible, may there be many more to come!
