St. David’s vs. St. Kevin’s Minor girls Gaelic Football

On the 24th of November, our minor girls Gaelic team faced St. Kevin’s Community College. Well done to both teams for going out on such a cold morning to play brilliant football, and thanks to our proficient minor girls Gaelic players, we have two teams both playing at county level due to the great numbers at training. This is amazing to see such participation in our national sport, we are extremely proud.

Throw-in was at 11.30 and immediately we saw great communication in our defense line, Zoe Burke stopping many of St. Kevin’s attacks. The midfield was run by Lexie Lyons, Kate Walker and Sinéad Siefried. Unfortunately, St. Kevin’s took the lead as the first half came to an end.

In the second half, our girls fought hard and well but didn’t bring it home in the end. Allison Moran, Orla Evans and Eibhin Walsh stood out especially; well done girls.

Special shout out to Anna, our goalie for an outstanding game, you should be very proud of yourself.

When the full time whistle blew, we sadly didn’t get the result we wanted but thank you girls for a great match and of course, thank you to Mr. Lawless for coaching and accompanying the girls.
