TY Boys Soccer Semi-Final

On Tuesday the 6th of May, our TY Boys soccer team played in an exciting Semi-Final against Castleknock Community College. At 12:40 the lads kicked off the first half well with strong defence and good team play, but unfortunately, they conceded a penalty putting Castleknock in the lead 1-0. Thankfully, after a thrilling 10 minutes, Max Waddington scored a skilful goal which was nicely assisted by Dani Chavez.

After half-time and a motivating speech given by their coach, the boys were eager to make a strong come-back. Luckily, this half started well with the lads maintaining possession, but Castleknock scored another lucky goal, putting the score at 2-1. Castleknock were through for another goal but were stopped with a strong challenge from Nick Doyle.

The lads put up a good fight but unfortunately ended the game 2-1 to Castleknock, with stand out performances from Leo Duffy with some amazing saves in nets, and great defence from Eoghan Waters and Conan Lyons.

We know that the boys may be disappointed with this result, but they should be proud of their achievement of reaching the semi-final. A big thanks to their coach, Mr Doyle for all his hard work and commitment to the team!
