4 & 5th Year Boys Rugby Vs St Columba's College

On Thursday the 21st of November Mr. Brady’s 4th & 5th year rugby team captained by Joseph Kavanagh took on a strong St. Columba's College side in a friendly.  This match  begins a new chapter for senior rugby within our school whereby Mr. Davies and Mr. Brady organise a  4th and 5th year league for our up and coming rugby athletes. They were keen to make this match a good one after a few unfortunate losses and they did not fail to deliver!

After a brilliant performance from the backs the ball reached out wide to Captain Joseph Kavanagh who charged straight through their defence scoring our first try. Following an oppositions try St David’s won a scrum on Columba’s 22. Captain Joseph picked the ball up and ran it in for the second try. As the 1st half wrapped up, David's conceded another unfortunate try.

However, the boys did not let this discourage them. After battling with the strong Columba's side Danylo Biletskyi secured the win with another try accrediting the backs outstanding performances. A special mention to Jorge Duch Gomez controlling the pitch as fly half , Cian Levins defending the wing, Sean Griffin securing the line outs and Levi Morgan making sharp tackles on the attackers.

Following the final whistle the exhausted but satisfied team trekked their way back home after a long but worthwhile journey.

A massive thanks to their brilliant coaches, Mr. Davies  and Mr. Brady
