Each year, tradition is, on the last day before October mid-term, the whole school holds a Halloween dress-up day, contest and bake sale, ran by our TY Amber Flag committee!
The Amber Flag Committee is the TY committee ran by Ms. Clifford dedicated to the wellbeing and mental health of students in our school. Each year they hold a big fundraiser in aid of Pieta House, an organization that promotes suicide awareness and is there to help anyone who is struggling. The team decorates the whole school building for Halloween, organizes a bake sale, and organizes and encourages everyone to dress-up and bring in €2 as it is a non-uniform day. This year, our 20 dedicated TY Amber Flag leaders raised an amazing €1,356.45 thanks to their hard work and great efforts during the weeks prior!
The day was a great success with all the classrooms filled with the buzz of halloween games and movies as opposed to books and learning. During period 4 we held a Whole School Assembly in our state-of-the-art Sports Arena, where the prizes for the best costumes and best bake sale entry were presented. Mr. Carey, our wonderful Principal, also took this time to celebrate some of the achievements our fabulous students have accomplished over the past few months.
