On Tuesday, 17th of October, our Junior Girls Soccer Team travelled down to Greystones United to face Greystones Community College in a pre-season friendly. Our New Captain, Sarah Duff, nicknamed ‘The Duffer’ led our girls out.
Kick off was at 9:45 and David's held possession from the start. In the 4th minute, Teagan Byrne hit a shot that passed by the goalkeeper, and we quickly had the lead. Casey Hall and Teagan Byrne created some chances, before GCC got themselves a goal. Lauren O' Leary, our goalkeeper, made a great clearance, and set Teagan up, as she ran down the wing, and scored another goal. GCC responded quickly and we were even at halftime with a score of 2-2.
We resumed the second half with Aoife Fox scoring a goal to put us back into the lead. Soon after that it was goals galore. Maria Lopez soon followed with a score, before Teagan scored another 3 goals, making her tally 5 goals for the entire match!
The final score was an impressive 7-2 to David's. Well done to all the girls from both schools, and a special well done to Teagan Byrne for her performance today. It was a great match enjoyed by all!
