On Thursday the 3rd of October the Junior and Senior Girls' rugby teams took to Donnybrook for a 7’s rugby blitz. The girls played exceptionally and portrayed their ever-improving skillset thanks to expert coaching from Amy O’Mahony organised by Mr. Davies.
The team was accompanied by Mr Short to Donnybrook while the girls played their customary hype music on the bus to liven the atmosphere, ensuring they were in the zone for the matches they were about to play.
At Senior level, despite a few injuries, senior girls were able to overcome a somewhat depleted squad, winning a solid three out of five of their matches. Tries were scored by Evelyn Kirwan, Millie Mahony, Saorla Purcell, Ella Andrews and Holly Goodwin.
At Junior level, the team exceeded expectations by winning all five of their matches. Tries were scored by Akvile Lide, Lexi Lyons, Martyna Majcher, Charlotte Roche, Orla Evans, Eibhin Walsh and Anna Liton in a performance that was reflective of grit, talent and delivery. We look forward to continued success on the field in the coming months.
