At St. David’s, we are so incredibly proud of every single student from the Class of ‘24, who recently received their remarkable Leaving Cert results in late August. On the 19th of September, we had the opportunity to celebrate those who were awarded H1 grades in particular at our annual Awards Night in the school’s dining area.
Prior to the distribution of the awards, Mr. Carey spoke of the importance of acknowledging not only the achievement of our students but also the entire family unit, whose continued presence is central to all life’s successes. Mr. Davies also extended well wishes on behalf of all the staff to the graduating class of 2024 as they begin the next steps of their exciting futures.
Each class saw awards presented by their tutor for the highest points achieved:
6A Ferret Killilea
6B Finn Burke
6C Rían Morris
6D Rin Acton
Finally, the prestigious Paul Ellis Award was presented by Mr. Carey at the end of the evening. A past pupil of St. David’s, this year marks the 40th anniversary of Paul’s Leaving Certificate. Paul, who embodied so much of what we wish to represent, tragically lost his life in 1993. The award, named in his honour, is presented annually to the student with the highest Leaving Certificate points. The much-deserved winner of this year’s Paul Ellis Award was Rían Morris.
We would like to extend our thanks to the team of teachers who worked tirelessly to ensure this evening was possible.
