Live At The Seafront 2026 rocked the St David’s Sports Arena on Wednesday 29th April. Now in its fourth year, student bands, singers, soloists, the school choir and trad group all came together to put on a varied mix of pop, rock, classical, traditional Irish and musical theatre pieces.

Our evening featured classic throwbacks, as the Music Club performed a rendition of Teenage Dirtbag while Aaron, Kiera, Lucas, Willow and James treated us to Metallica’s Enter Sandman. Lily and Stella sang a soulful version of Black Sheep, Lucy, Dia, Mia, Ewan and Ferghal’s harmonies in Step On Me were an instant earworm. Cian Fairley and Chloe and Sadie also offered heartfelt covers of Harvest Moon and Dog Days are Over, captivating everyone.

Our students’ creativity was perfectly showcased by Kiera Danilova, Ewan Macadam and past pupils Mute the TV, each of whom performed original compositions. Our TY Musical cast reminded us of their fantastic production of Shrek with their powerful piece, Forever, followed by Arkleen’s timeless arrangement of Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy. Our first session was closed by Tom, Ewan and James whose version of Monsters Inc.’s theme left all present in a suitably nostalgic mood.

There was a Celtic lilt to the second act, which began with a trad medley from the multi-talented Siún, Caoilfhionn and Issey, while later we enjoyed the melodic tones of the School Choir’s Geantrai. Our Senior Cycle students next took centre stage, as Kate, Tom, James and Isobel all left the hall transfixed with their diverse stylistic abilities. Miles, Aaron Ewan and James joined forces for Radiohead’s Creep, and the vintage hits only continued with an Eagles double-bill thanks Rowan, James, Oisin, Fearghal performing Hotel California and James, Lucas and Sam singing Take it Easy. Willow and Aaron delivered a moving rendition of Last Night on Earth before Fionn, Luca and the Music Club concluded the evening with the crowd pleasing Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.

Well done to all the students who took part, especially all the 6th years, and a big thank you to Ms. Carey, Ms. Cronly, Mr. Lynch, Mr. Timlin and Ms. Wilson for putting the entire evening possible.
