Minor Girls Quarter Final Victory - Feb '24

On Friday the 23rd of February our Minor Girls soccer team headed down to Greystones United to play in a division one quarter final against Coláiste Chill Mhantáin. The girls did a quick warm up before their 11:10 kick off.  The girls were led out by their captain Áine Ryan and started off strongly. Mae Browner scored two goals but both were unfortunately ruled offside. Ella Mullen took a quick free kick to Laoise O’ Gorman resulting in a brilliant goal, her first with many more to come. Hazel Prendergast made some amazing saves ensuring that they walked off the pitch at half time with a score line of 1-0.

Mae took the tip off leading to our team quickly taking possession. Laoise O’ Gorman once again received the ball and smashed it into the back of the net. A corner was next awarded to St David's with Mae accurately placing the ball at the feet of Laoise resulting in a hat trick for her. Laoise again scored her last goal of the game by picking away at the defence.  The next goal was scored by Alannah Synott followed by the last goal from Cerys Cresswell, making the final score 6-0. The Minor Girls team are now awaiting their semi final where they are hoping to put up the same performance.

Well done to all the girls for putting up an amazing display of football and a huge thanks to Mr Geoghegan for getting them this far.
