Senior Boys Soccer VS Luttrellstown community 11/12/25

On the 11th of December, our senior boys soccer team played Luttrellstown community in what proved to be a match filled with determination and strength.

The match began at 12:30. The weather was terrible, yet the boys stood steadfast despite the cold and battering rain. They put up a great fight against the opposition with frequent defenses and saves from Oisín Waters. The lads had excellent control of the ball and spent a lot of time in the top right corner against the wind and defence of Luttrelstown. After a while however, a crack formed in our defence and Luttrelstown took their chance to score the first goal of the match making the score 1-0 against us at the end of the first half.

The second half started strong with the boys playing in defiance of the bad weather and the determination of the opposing team. Shortly into the second half of the match an equalising goal was scored by Conor McLaughlin making the score 1-1. A few minutes after that David's conceded a goal changing the scoreboard to 2-1. The outcome was looking bleak when we unfortunately conceded another goal causing us to be down by two goals going into the last 15 minutes. A small spark of hope was ignited when Jamie Coyle scored a goal in the last 10 minutes. Our team played very well right before the whistle where we were constantly in the opponents box and an unlucky shot was fired off and went just over the post. The final score was 3-2.

Overall the lads played amazingly, holding their own against an extremely tough opposition. A huge thank you to Luttrellstown community and to Mr. Doyle for coaching the lads.
