Simon Harris Returns to David's

This morning we were paid a very exciting visit by the Tánaiste, Simon Harris. He was given a very warm welcome by our staff and students. He first met with the student liaison team and management before being given a tour of the AS classroom and he was shown around all of the facilities. He met two students who have the chance to experience the AS classroom everyday and they told him of how much it has improved their overall school experiences. They mentioned how it is such a warm and welcoming environment and it makes coming to school much better. They showed him around the classroom first, which was followed by the other AS classroom for the juniors.

Simon Harris met with the student council who were in the midst of their voting for the student council election. The foyer was buzzing with excitement for the upcoming election and their results. The students took their turns voting for the candidate who they thought would improve their school the most.

The Tánaiste was then introduced to the F1 team and they told him about the Singapore trip and how excited they are for the trip. They spoke about all of the fundraising they did for this trip and how excited they were to be able to participate in the competition. Tánaiste Harris was then shown their car model and they spoke about the upcoming competition. He then took a photo with the F1 team and moments with the team were photographed. It was a very enjoyable experience for the staff and students and we wish him the very best in his position as Tánaiste
