St David's Girl Power - Junior and First Year Girls Bring Home Silverware

Our Junior Girls are now the shield champions after landing on the better side of their match with East Glendalough. This tops off a great season with great performances from all player but notable appearances for Lauren O'Leary (Player of the Year), Ciara Fitzgerald (Most Improved Player) - along with Caoimhe Davis, Niamh O'Neil and Luc O'Leary. The stand out games of the season were without doubt the David's victories over CCM and East Glendalough.

Our First Year Girls claimed the Cup in their recent tie against Avondale. This topped an amazing year which saw the girls remain undefeated all season. Stand our performances in this squad included those from Chloe Byrne (Play of the Year) and Niamh Doherty (Most Improved Player). Other players of note for their consistency included Millie Free, Aoife Wall and Moya Marinnan. When ask what the secret to success was for this team, their coach Mr Geoghan put it all down to their committment "This is all down to great training numbers every Wednesday in Eire Og". Clearly a very proud couch he added "The girls can be as proud of their achievement as we are of them as a school community.".

Ever the modest man, Mr Geoghan didn't mention the fact that he's the coach for both of the above teams! The teams and the school would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Geoghan for his organisation and time given up to promoting the girls' teams this year.
