St David's vs Woodbrook in Junior Boys' Soccer

On the 23rd of January, the St David’s junior boys' soccer team took on Woodbrook in cold conditions at Greystones United.

The game kicked off at 1:30 on Friday afternoon and David’s started off strong thanks to two early goals. Jack Corrigan scored the first by dribbling past 2 defenders and slotting it into the back of the net. This was followed by Dafydd Davies, who scored an amazing goal to make the lead 2-0 to St David’s. Woodbrook responded with a great goal of their own and then went on to win a penalty which was expertly saved by Leo! The match was soon levelled at 2-2 but St David's kept fighting. Oisin Duff, Henry Moody and then Oisin Duff again scored before half time to make it 5-2.

The lads went back out into the second half determined to go on and win. They started the second half brilliantly, scoring a couple goals early on making them 7-2 up. They continued their pressure by creating chances and then Oisin completed his hattrick to make it 8! The substitutes warmed up and helped the team hold on. They scored to make it 12-2 before Woodbrook pulled a goal back. The game ended 12-3 with an unreal performance from the lads!

A massive thank you to coach Mr. Cahill and Woodbrook for a great match!
