Transition Year Trip to Paris '24

On Friday 22nd of March, over 100 students and 10 teachers gathered in the dining hall at 1.15 in the morning, to begin their journey to Paris. There was a few sleepy heads but in general everyone was in a good mood!

Day 1

Our TYs started the day with a guided bus tour around the city, seeing famous sights such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre and the Notre Dame. Then with a quick crepe break, they got on the boat for a cruise down the River Seine. They all then made their way to an Italian restaurant for dinner, where pizza and pasta was enjoyed! To finish the day, a group of very tired TYs made their way back to the hotel for a very needed sleep!

Day 2

The day started bright and early, with breakfast at 07:30, with everyone being well rested and ready for the day. They made their way back into the city center, and were given free time to roam around Montmartre and visit many shops! After that they made their way to Stade de France for lunch and then a guided stadium tour. They saw the pitch, the medical room, changing rooms, President's box and also got to do a walkout onto the pitch. They finished the day with dinner and then a table quiz back at the hotel!

Day 3

This day was the day all TYs were looking forward to. Disneyland! Disney songs were played on the way, and the TYs got their tickets for access for both parks. The TYs were given the whole day to roam both parks and enjoy the rides and attractions. The favourite rides of the day were Avengers Flight Force and Hyperspace Mountain. Our very tired TYs returned back to the accommodation, after having an amazing day!

Day 4

The trip flew by quickly, and it was suddenly the last day. The TYs began the day with a trip to the Eiffel tower to get some photos and admire the view! Then the TYs made their way to Aeroville Shopping Centre, where they were given free time before their flight. They then made their way to the airport for their flight back to Dublin.

The TYs had an amazing trip and it is one to be remembered for the years! Thanks to all teachers who came along, and especially Ms, Murphy and Mr. O’Dowd for organising what was a fantastic trip!
